From 3D-Print to Concrete - DIY Silicone Mold Making Process
Watch step-by-step video of this design on my 🔴YouTube channel — https://youtu.be/QZujiIQxbAk
Digital STL files for 3D printing — you will receive .zip archive with two versions of my formwork design, plus several variations of the Pot Master Model
❗️ Please pay attention to the top view, the feature of this design is the tilted edges (not true square)
Final product Dimensions:
Height - 60 mm (2.4 in)
Length - 80 mm(3 in)
Elipse diameter - approx. 70 mm (2.7 in)
Volume - 190 ml (6.4 Oz)
V2 Formwork:
the frame consists of one piece and has a lock that prevents shifting, added reinforcing ribs, model thickness optimized for 0.6mm width perimeter printing in two passes, model has perfect gaps if printed on a calibrated printer. If after printing you cannot easily separate the model, it means your printer is extruding too much filament (over-extrusion). In the archive you will find some recommendations that will help you fix it and improve print quality
I designed a Planter that can also be used as a container for candles, it has a 23 mm socket at the bottom for a wick holder, also a 3D model of holder for a 15 mm-wide wooden wick.
My designs are not only modeled but also tested in real life — I am experimenting with the optimal sizes and shapes for printing and pouring.
You can easy make your own silicone mold by printing the master model and frame on your 3D printer using PLA
Silicone required for mold creation - 350 ml (11,8 Oz)
example* if You need 260 ml of silicone to pour the mold (to know the weight in grams you need to multiply the volume (260 ml) by the density of your silicone. example: (260 ml)*(density 1.14)=296 g)
This is important! Use a non-silicone release spray like "Ease Release 200" for easy first demolding and vacuuming of the silicone before pouring.
This is a digital download, not a physical product. Nothing will be shipped out. This will automatically be sent to you via email.
